The space
Surrounded by serene water lily reflecting ponds, Casa Sisal is a 2,000-square-foot modern retreat, set within the 2-acre henequen drying fields of Hacienda Sac Chich. Enclosed by the hacienda’s original 11-foot walls, this home offers an intimate, private sanctuary.
Casa Sisal features two luxurious bedrooms: one with a king bed and another with two queen beds. Each bedroom boasts its own modern, full bathroom, ensuring comfort and privacy. Connecting the two bedrooms is an expansive open-concept living space, complete with a sleek modern kitchen, a sunken living area, and a dining space that accommodates six. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors in this central area blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor living, creating a harmonious connection with the surrounding environment. The home is fully air-conditioned and equipped with ceiling fans in all rooms for ultimate comfort.
Step outside from the living area to find a 30-foot lily pond patio, ideal for tranquil moments. On the opposite side, enjoy a stunning three-sided infinity-edge swimming pool alongside a palapa and patio with lounge chairs for relaxation. The pool overlooks a lush great lawn, lined with 18 majestic royal palms, which are beautifully illuminated at night to create a magical atmosphere.
This architectural masterpiece is constructed from hardwoods, limestone, and polished plaster using the ancient Mayan technique of chukum, giving the walls a sleek, polished finish. With 10-foot ceilings and doors, the home feels expansive and airy. Custom furnishings, dramatic lighting, and meticulous design details make Casa Sisal an unparalleled modern oasis.
Guests have full access to Casa Sisal, including the Great Lawn and the Bocce Ball court. If the other part of the Hacienda is unoccupied during your stay and you’d like a tour, we’d be delighted to show you around.

Where you’ll be staying
If you're traveling to or near Merida, Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport (MID) is the most common option, located just 20 minutes from downtown. There are other regional airports in the Yucatan, but MID is by far the most common.
