Querétaro is a UNESCO World Heritage colonial city in central Mexico, known for its beautifully preserved 16th- and 17th-century architecture, pastel-colored buildings, and historic aqueduct. It's also a convenient base for day trips to nearby San Miguel de Allende, Bernal, and the Sierra Gorda mountains.

The easiest route is flying into Querétaro Intercontinental Airport (QRO), which has direct flights from several US cities and connections through Mexico City. Alternatively, most travelers fly into Mexico City International Airport (MEX) and take a direct bus (about 3 hours). If you're already in central Mexico, multiple premium bus companies run frequently and comfortably between Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, and Querétaro.
