From the hills above Santa Teresa, the Pacific arranges itself into something almost architectural — a wide, unbroken horizon that this house was built to meet. Positioned within marAmar, the area's most established gated community, the property arrived in 2023 with the kind of considered ease that newer builds rarely get right: a saltwater pool catching the afternoon light, a yoga deck carved into the hillside, five bedrooms spread across terraces that seem to lean toward the view.
The layout is generous without being excessive. Three bedrooms come with ensuite bathrooms and private terraces; two more share a bathroom between them, each still opening outward into the canopy and the air. A wide covered terrace anchors the social heart of the house — outdoor dining, the hum of conversation after a long day on the water — while the open-plan kitchen and living room flow naturally from it. There is also a sun deck with a BBQ, a TV room for slower evenings, and parking for two cars plus quads for those who want to push further into the peninsula.
The surf break, the best restaurants, the hip bars of Santa Teresa Norte — all of it is a short walk from the gate. But the community's 24/7 security and complete services mean the house also holds its own sense of remove, a place to return to rather than simply pass through.
The jungle makes itself known here too. Howler monkeys move through the bamboo, iguanas take the terraces as their own, and the power grid occasionally asserts its independence, as it does everywhere along this coast. It is all part of the texture of the place — alive, unhurried, and entirely itself.
