Beachfront Villa in Akumal

Akumal is a town built around its bay, where turtles graze the seagrass a few meters from shore and the beach runs soft and pale in both directions. This six-bedroom villa sits directly on that sand, inside a gated community with paved roads and round-the-clock security. The ground floor opens almost entirely to the outside, living space giving way to the pool, then a stretch of lawn, then the beach and the water beyond it.

The house is laid out for families and groups who plan to stay a while. The ocean-view master suite opens straight onto the pool and beach. Four more suites each have a king bed, and a large family room with two queens and two bunks gives the kids a space of their own. Two separate living rooms mean the group can split up in the evening without anyone being pushed to a bedroom. Upstairs, the rooftop terrace has a plunge pool and plenty of open floor for morning yoga or drinks at sunset. There's also a small gym (treadmill, bike, weights, mats) and a proper desk for anyone who needs to work.

A chef is on staff every day from 8am to 8pm and is included in the stay. Groceries are billed separately at the end, which leaves the menu entirely up to you. The beach out front is sandy and swimmable, though the sea changes with the seasons and some weeks are calmer than others. Follow the Akumal Trail on foot and you reach a handful of beachfront restaurants and some of the best snorkeling on this stretch of coast. The Riviera Maya golf course sits across the street, and Tulum is an easy drive south for a day out.

The house is meant for long, comfortable stays, and it isn't available for bachelor or bachelorette parties or other party-style groups.
