Casa La Caleta

Four bedrooms accommodate up to eighteen guests in this single-story estate, set within a gated community on the edge of Yalku Lagoon, one of the finest natural snorkelling spots on the Riviera Maya. The water lies steps from the garden, where a circular pool, a palm-shaded lawn and a thatched palapa dining pavilion anchor the grounds. A private cenote, a full-size football field and an open-air jungle gym complete a property planned around families, with every space on a single level.

Sleeping is arranged with children in mind. A king suite sits alongside a queen suite with four beds and a double room that sleeps eight, while a bunk room, built expressly for younger guests, holds two double beds, two single beds and two single bunks.

Breakfast is included Monday to Saturday and prepared by Isidro, with guests covering the cost of groceries plus a $25 shopping fee. Chef service for lunch and dinner is available at $7 and $10 per person respectively, and children aged five and under eat free. Housekeeping is provided daily from Monday to Saturday, with Sunday service available on request for an additional fee. The bedrooms, kitchen and living areas are air-conditioned, and pool heating can be arranged for an additional fee. Tap water is not safe to drink, so purified water is provided. Alcohol is not included.

The estate is surrounded by jungle, and raccoons, iguanas, birds and sea turtles are regularly seen. Guests are asked to treat the wildlife with respect. Staff gratuities are not included and are appreciated.

One thing to double-check before publishing: the beds listed add up to more than eighteen sleeping spots, so it’s worth confirming whether eighteen is the true maximum or whether the bed counts need adjusting.
