Stunning Villa in Punta Mita

Set high on a hillside within one of Punta Mita's gated enclaves, the residence looks down over a stretch of coastline that stays quieter than the rest of the peninsula. Jungle presses in green and dense on either side, the sky opens wide overhead, and the Pacific runs the full length of the view, close enough that its sound reaches the terraces before the sun does. Mornings start with that sound rather than any alarm. Coffee gets carried out to watch the light change over the water, and the day tends to organize itself around the tide rather than a schedule.

Below, the beach is the kind that doesn't show up in every guidebook — clear, turquoise, and unhurried, good for a morning snorkel or an afternoon spent doing very little. Whale season brings its own rhythm to the horizon, and for those who want to go further out, sailing trips and chartered yachts can be arranged from nearby marinas, along with surf breaks and reef dives within a short drive.

Inside, eight bedrooms carry their own names and their own view of the property. Sol and Luna, the two second-floor masters, look straight out over the ocean, each with a king bed and a bathroom built for lingering — soaking tub, separate shower, double vanity. Isla, on the first floor, trades the ocean for a reflecting pool just outside its window, with the same attention to the bathroom. Arena and Marea sit upstairs facing the garden, king beds again, en-suite bathrooms scaled down only slightly, single vanities in place of double. Brisa and Coral, both on the first floor, open onto garden terraces and keep things simpler still — shower rather than tub, but private and unhurried all the same. Lluvia closes out the floor plan as the one room built for families or larger groups rather than couples: two double beds and two bunks, garden-facing, with its own bathroom including a tub. Between them, the eight rooms comfortably sleep up to eighteen adults and two children, giving groups enough separation to keep their own hours without losing the sense of being together.

A private chef and full household staff run the kitchen and the days, working local, seasonal ingredients into menus that lean internationally rather than sticking to one cuisine — breakfast, lunch, and dinner all handled, all built around what's good that week. Wellness is treated with the same care: yoga, guided meditation, massage, and fitness sessions can all be arranged on site, folded into the day as easily as a meal.

The architecture itself stays out of the way of the setting, letting the landscape and the water do most of the talking, while the staff and programming underneath make it a place where very little needs to be planned once you arrive.
