Designer Home in Merida
A three-bedroom restored Spanish Colonial home in the Centro Histórico of Mérida, Mexico, spans 4,000 square feet. Designers and hoteliers Stephenie and Chase Watts stripped the property to its original limestone walls and dirt floors during renovation, then rebuilt using hand-painted Yucatán tiles, reclaimed wood beams, and stone sourced from towns outside the city.
Interior details include a marble bar, a hand-carved hammam sink, and nightstands cut from crema maya stone, quarried near the town of Tixcacal, with visible embedded fossils.
The home sits within walking distance of central Mérida's historic core, a city surrounded by jungle, beaches, and Maya ruins.

If you're traveling to or near Merida, Manuel Crescencio Rejón International Airport (MID) is the most common option, located just 20 minutes from downtown. There are other regional airports in the Yucatan, but MID is by far the most common.
