Villa Amira

Pedregal climbs the granite headland above Cabo San Lucas, and from the top of it you can see two bodies of water at once. The Sea of Cortez lies to the east and the Pacific to the west, so the sun comes up over one and goes down into the other. This house was finished recently, and it’s set up to make the most of both.

The architecture is contemporary, but it was built around the hillside rather than over it. Natural rock formations run through the interior, left exposed and worked into walls and living spaces, so the house feels partly carved out of the site. The effect is quiet and grounded, closer to a retreat than a showpiece. A gold-finished elevator connects the levels, and it’s the one place where the design allows itself a flourish.

Eight suites sleep up to 21 guests. Each was designed separately, with its own layout and architectural details, and every one has a large walk-in closet. Living spaces are generous inside and out, opening onto terraces built for long evenings, big meals and gatherings across generations.

A hospitality team runs the house, with service shaped around what each group wants. A separate professional kitchen and back-of-house areas are tucked out of view, so cooking, cleaning and everything else happen without anyone noticing. The house is booked for exclusive use, and it suits families, milestone celebrations, anniversaries and private retreats as easily as it does a group of friends who simply want somewhere with space and a view.
